Centerfire Benchrest

All standard range rules apply, safety is always first.

The range official has the final say. Period.

Scoring is based on a max score of 200; X rings will determine a tie.  We will also award the best shot group at 100 and 200 yards measured from the outside minus bullet diameter.

Coarse of fire will be 10 shots at 100 yards (100 points max) and 10 shots at 200 yards (100 points max). You will have 20 minutes total time to shoot.

You will need a rifle with scope and sand bags or Bipod. You can use a adjustable rifle rest in open class.  A spotting is optional but definitely a plus.  You may shoot two classifications per match. Bring 20 rounds of ammo (factory or hand loaded center fire) per rifle to be shot.

Shooting classifications will consist of:

  •  Hunting class, this includes hunting rifles with standard factory contour barrels.  You may shoot from sand bags or bipod, no rear bags allowed.
  •  Sporting H Bar class, AR, HK, AK  and medium contour bolt action type sporting rifles with factory contour barrels and max outside barrel diameter of .750 at the gas block.  You may shoot from sand bags or bipod, no rear bags allowed. The range official can move you up to the next class if you barrel is over .750.
  •  Bull Barrel class, this includes Rem 700, Win 70, Savage, AR Type rifles and so on with bull barrels.  You may shoot from sands bags or bipod, no rear bags allowed.
  •  Open class, Sky's the limit.  You may shoot from sand bags, bipod or use a fully adjustable rifle rest in this class. Rear bags are allowed.
